Doug Hofmann has been with Williams Kastner since 1975 and a member since 1982. Doug is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and is listed in the Best Lawyers in America®. Mr. Hofmann has been named to Super Lawyers every year since 2001 by Washington Law & Politics magazine, and Seattle Magazine has named him as a “Top Lawyer.” He has also been recognized by the Seattle Met magazine as a “Top Lawyer” in Commercial Litigation for 2010, a designation based upon Martindale-Hubbell's ranking of those practitioners in King County who have been judged by their peers to be “AV Preeminent”—the highest peer-review rating available. Serving as National and Regional Counsel for several clients, Mr. Hofmann's practice emphasizes litigation and he has tried over 50 cases involving commercial disputes, construction, product liability, drug & medical devices, medical malpractice, toxic tort, defamation, insurance coverage, marine vessels and business claims involving unfair competition, royalty, trade secrets and patents. He has experience helping clients and businesses plan for construction, general liability exposure and risk management, and has consulted with businesses on insurance issues. Mr. Hofmann has also worked on many appeals and argued cases to the Supreme Court of Washington where law was established on market share liability, joint and several liability, media reporting of criminal charges, defamation and qualified privilege, and the law of successor liability, and he is the PPA MDL Co-Defense Liaison Counsel. Mr. Hofmann is a frequent speaker and publisher on litigation, product liability, and construction topics. He also authors the Washington chapter for the 50 state compendium for the Tort Law Desk Reference. Mr. Hofmann was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® in the area of Personal Injury Litigation in 2011.
