Tom Sharp received his law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Denver in 1969, and has practiced law in Steamboat Springs for almost 40 years, focusing on real property, business, banking, special district law, estate planning, and water law. He has served as past President of the Routt County Bar Association, as a past Vice-President of the Colorado Bar Association, and as a past Chairman of the Water Section of the CBA. He was a director for 20 years, and past Chairman, of the Colorado Water Resources and Power Development Authority. He has been a director for 34 years of the Upper Yampa Water Conservancy District, and has served as both Vice-chairman and Chairman of such District. He served a 3-year term as a member of the Colorado Water Conservation Board. He serves as a director of the Colorado River Water Conservation District since 2001, and is currently President of the District. Tom was elected three times to the Re-2 School Board in Routt County. He has been a director of Yampa Valley Bank since 2000, and prior to that time served as a director of the United Bank of Steamboat Springs, Intrawest Bank of Steamboat Springs, and as a community director of Norwest Bank of Steamboat Springs. Tom was elected as a Life Fellow of both the Colorado Bar Foundation and the American Bar Foundation. He is married to Sandy Sharp, and has four grown children.
