Dr. Sharifi is a registered patent agent working in the Jacksonville Office of ADDMG. Dr. Sharifi practices in the patent area including counseling inventors and businesses on the patent process and strategies to support business and marketing plans, and evaluating the patenting potential of inventions. Prior to joining our firm, Dr. Sharifi worked in a large, top-ranked Philadelphia-based law firm. Her practice has included work with national and international pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology, biological systems, chemistry, and medical devices.
Dr. Sharifi holds a Ph.D. in human genetics and molecular biology from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where much of her research was focused on gene regulation and its implications as a potential therapeutic strategy for disorders caused by genetic mutations. Her scientific expertise spans a wide range of topics from molecular biology, genetics, neurobiology, and biochemistry to physiology and disease therapy. Her outstanding educational and research background in the biomedical field, ability to clearly and concisely define the problem and analyze experimental results, and cutting edge knowledge of current and historical scientific developments bring valuable expertise and insight into the patent prosecution process. Dr. Sharifi has been published in several peer-reviewed journals including Nature Genetics, Journal of General Physiology and Endocrinology. She has also presented her work at multiple national and international conferences.
