Jacob Shapiro is an experienced litigation attorney, with verdicts and settlements in cases involving catastrophic injury and wrongful death. A California and Federal practitioner since 1996, his qualifications extend also to the California Court of Appeals, where he recently won a landmark decision confirming the non-delegable duty of commercial property owners and their full liability for injuries caused by their defective elevators. The settlement after trial and appeal of $6.49 million was achieved for a truck driver and delivery man, who required complex spinal surgery as the result of an elevator accident in a commercial building. His appellate victory protects the rights of all Californians to be able to recover full 100% recoveries against negligent property owners for injuries or deaths caused by their dangerous elevators.

Since 1996 Mr. Shapiro has represented thousands of injury victims and the families of individuals who were killed due to the fault of negligent parties, including many international plane accidents. His clients have included many distinguished travelers from other countries injured or killed on California roads by negligent and drunk drivers, or in boating accidents while on vacation at some of the many fabulous lakes and waterways in California.
