Beth's legal career has focused on helping families, both in private practice and previously as the sole Guardian ad Litem attorney for five counties. Beth has devoted herself to learning about family issues and conflict resolution, including a prior certification in family mediation and arbitration, as well as extensive coursework in conflict resolution, financial behavior, and certification to teach an advanced parenting class, Redirecting Children's Behavior. Beth returned to Thompson Family Law in January 2009, having previously worked here from 1996-2001.
Beth is originally from Iowa where she was raised on a cattle ranch. After her family moved to Naples in 1978, Beth returned “up north” to attend and graduate from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she received the Thomas Hill award for outstanding work in philosophy. After three years of Minnesota winters, Beth relocated back to Florida, graduating from law school at the University of Florida in 1990.
Beth's husband and two children share their home with dogs, cats, fish, and one scared Blue Tongued Skink. When not working at Thompson Family Law, Beth can be found playing with her children, hidden away with a good book, or attempting to garden.
