Elena Schwieger is an associate in the Securities Department, and a member of the Broker-Dealer Compliance and Regulation and Derivatives and Futures Practice Groups. She joined the firm in 2009.
Practice
Ms. Schwieger’s practice focuses on US financial regulatory reform, including securities law and new swaps and derivatives regulation. She advises clients on the implications of the Dodd-Frank Act and counsels SEC and CFTC registrants and other financial organizations on a broad range of regulatory matters, including compliance with federal and state securities laws and regulations, futures regulation, and the rules of self-regulatory organizations (SROs). She has also assisted clients in providing comments to proposed securities and futures regulations.
During law school, Ms. Schwieger completed an internship in the US Securities and Exchange Commission Summer Honors Program in the Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations. Prior to beginning her legal career, Ms. Schwieger was a Research Manager at the Corporate Executive Board, where she conducted research on strategic business issues for senior executives in the financial services industry.

Ms. Schwieger is a member of the District of Columbia Women's Bar Association.
