While in law school, Ms. Herman, earned Dean's List recognition, was awarded the CALI Award for Excellence in Trademark and Unfair Competition Law and also served as a research assistant to Professor David Welkowitz where her work on international trademark law contributed to the latest revision of his treatise Trademark Dilution: Federal, State, and International Law (BNA Books, 2005 Cumulative Supplement).
Prior to joining WHGC, Ms. Herman worked for the intellectual property boutique firms of J. Mark Holland and Associates in Newport Beach, California, and TRW Law Group in Irvine, California. Ms. Herman has also served as an Intellectual Property Consulting Attorney to local business law firms who do not have dedicated intellectual property practitioners.
While at TRW Law Group, she co-presented "The Madrid Protocol: A Five Year Report Card" to the Orange County Bar Association's Intellectual Property Section. Ms. Herman later contributed to an article expanding on the presentation, published under the same name, in Orange County Lawyer magazine.
When away from the firm, Ms. Herman enjoys attending the latest museum exhibitions and volunteers her time at a local animal shelter.
