"The Law Offices of Wendy Raquel Hernandez, P.C." were founded on July 1, 1999. In the three years prior to opening the firm, I obtained an extensive amount of litigation training and experience while working as a Deputy County Attorney at the Maricopa County Attorney's Office. During my time at the County Attorney's Office, I was trained by some of Arizona's most recognized and experienced trial attorneys. I learned to navigate a courtroom, trying numerous cases to both juries and judges. My position as a criminal trial attorney allowed me to personally handle hundreds of criminal cases from beginning to end. The legal and emotional challenges of criminal law (which ranged from drug possession cases to murder matters), prepared me for my future work in the complex area of family law. Although I currently focus primarily on domestic relations law, I continue to devote a percentage of my practice to all areas of criminal defense.

In my work as a criminal attorney, I first came to recognize that each person not only has a life story, but that each person's story significantly impacts who that person is when I first meet with him or her. I have realized I am able to work at the highest level for a client if I really listen to that individual, come to know him or her and try to discern any needs that person might have besides just legal representation. I view my work as more than preparing paperwork and following court rules; part of my desire is to help each client transition from his or her current place in life to another.
