Scotto, Jennifer Elise

Lisa Berman Hernandez has been advocating for the rights of those faced with uncertainties of the legal system for almost 20 years. She practiced in Chicago, Illinois before coming to her hometown of San Diego. Over the past few years, Ms. Hernandez has concentrated solely on workers compensation and representing the rights of injured workers. She works diligently to ensure that those who are confused and intimidated by the workers’ compensation system become informed so that they can be better advocates for themselves. Prior to her work as a workers’ compensation applicant attorney, Ms. Hernandez spent most of her career as a criminal defense attorney/public defender. She has handled a wide array of matters, from death penalty cases to representing children as a guardian ad-litem, and everything in between.

Outside of work, Ms. Hernandez is most proud of her husband, Angel, and daughter, Madeline. Ms. Hernandez is very committed to her community, serving as Vice President of Education for Tifereth Israel Synagogue. Ms. Hernandez has a good command of the Spanish language and various cultures and this helps her clients feel comfortable when she is advocating on their behalf.
