Nick practices with the firm's Government Relations and Frac Sand, Mining and Minerals Sections where he represents government entities, corporations and individuals in all areas of municipal and regulatory law. Nick skillfully assists local, national and international clients in working with the regulatory entities to ensure non-metallic (frac sand) mining operations may operate responsibly in Wisconsin. Nick also represents various private sector individuals, corporations and entities on permitting matters.
Previous to joining the Weld, Riley firm, Nick served as a paralegal at Williams & Connolly LLP in Washington, D.C. working in complex litigation and Congressional investigations. Prior to attending law school, Nick also served as an aide to State Senators Ron Brown and Sheila Harsdorf. While working for Senator Brown, Nick handled natural resources and transportation issues.
Nick received his undergraduate degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. with a B.A. in History. Nick is a graduate of Lewis & Clark Law School. While at Lewis & Clark, Nick placed first in the Moot Court Client Counseling Competition and was a law clerk for the Alaska Attorney General's Office.
Nick was raised in River Falls, Wisconsin and is married and resides with his family in the Chippewa Valley. Nick serves the community as an active member of the Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce Public Affairs Committee and the Sacred Heart – Saint Patrick Catholic Church Finance Council.
