Timothy R. Henderson is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Rich and Henderson, P.C. He represents local and national clients in a variety of matters including environmental permitting, merger and acquisition due diligence, natural resources issues and land use matters. His practice focuses on regulatory compliance counseling on issues ranging from hazardous and solid waste (involving both RCRA and Superfund), environmental permitting, air quality, wastewater disposal, water use, transactional and enforcement matters. Guiding investors through the maze of federal, state and local environmental requirements for the acquisition of businesses or land is a major part of his practice.
Mr. Henderson began his career in 1980 at the Environmental Law Institute in Washington, D.C., and then worked as an assistant regional counsel at EPA Region II in New York City. In 1987, he moved to private practice; first in New York, then in Washington, D.C. and since 1993, in Maryland with Rich and Henderson, P.C.
He serves as a co-instructor of Environmental Law for Engineers and Scientists for the Johns Hopkins University Engineering for Professionals Program and a frequent speaker to legal, real estate and land development professionals on legal issues involving environmental due diligence, wetlands and critical areas issues.
Mr. Henderson is the current President of his community's homeowner's association and has been a member of its Board for over ten years. He is a past President of the Maryland State Bar Association's Environmental Law Section.
He received both his master's and law degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is admitted to practice in Maryland, Washington, D.C., New York and Wisconsin; before the Federal District Courts of Maryland, the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
