Bob Schuetze graduated from the University of Denver in 1968 and was thereafter commissioned as an Officer in the U.S. Navy. He served in Vietnam and rose to the position of Senior Air Intelligence Officer. He attended the University of Denver School of Law where he was an editor of the law review, graduating in 1976.
He was a founding member of Buchanan, Gray, Purvis & Schuetze, which later became Purvis, Gray, Schuetze & Gordon. He is a past president of the Boulder County Bar Association and past president of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. He has also served as chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Colorado Bar Foundation. He is also a member of the American Law Institute and currently serves on the Board of Governors and the American Trial Lawyers Association.
Bob is nationally recognized in the area of railroad grade crossing litigation. He was counsel in the landmark Colorado trial in which a verdict of $23 million was returned. In the last 15 years, he has been involved in crossing cases throughout Colorado and in California, Utah, New Mexico and North Dakota.
In his spare time, Bob enjoys downhill skiing and follows the University of Colorado Ski Team where his son, Jed, is a varsity skier.
