Schulze, James Gerard

Anders is a member of the firm's Frac Sand, Mining and Minerals, Administrative, and Government Relations sections. 

He provides counsel to industrial frac sand entities seeking to establish nonmetallic mines in Wisconsin. Anders utilizes his experience in regulatory matters and government affairs to represent the frac sand industry in permitting. He works cooperatively with the Wisconsin DNR to obtain all necessary air and water permits, with local governments to obtain conditional use permits, rezonings and other approvals, and with applicable federal agencies (e.g., MSHA, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the FAA).

His experience also includes negotiating, drafting, and obtaining developer's and road haul agreements on behalf of frac sand entities.

Additionally, Anders provides counsel to local governmental units. He combines his knowledge of municipal law and experience in labor and employment law to provide those governmental entities with comprehensive legal advice. Anders is also the attorney for the Village of Somerset and other municipalities throughout western Wisconsin.

His previous experience also includes representing management-side clients in matters regarding social media in the workplace, state and federal employment discrimination, sensitive personnel investigations, unemployment compensation, labor relations, constitutional matters, and workplace policies.

He is a graduate of Taylor University in Upland, Indiana (B.A., magna cum laude) and the Drake University School of Law (J.D., high honors, Order of the Coif), where he was an Articles Editor for the Drake Law Review.  Prior to joining the firm, Anders spent a law school semester in Drake's Judicial Honors Program, serving as an intern for the Honorable Federal Magistrate Judge Ross A. Walters in the Southern District of Iowa.

He served on the Board of Directors for the Chippewa Valley Society for Human Resource Management as the Director of Legal and Legislative Affairs.  He is also a member of the Eau Claire and Wisconsin Bar Associations. 

Anders was born and raised in Wisconsin, spending time in Sturgeon Bay, Manitowoc, and Birchwood. His diverse interests include fishing for walleyes, reading The Wall Street Journal to his daughter, and attending Milwaukee Brewers games with his wife.
