Originally from Houston, Micah brings a wide range of experience to Alaniz & Schraeder in defending his clients in employment litigation matters. Micah has developed a broad understanding of workplace litigation issues through successful defense of claims such as discrimination (including race, sex, age and disability), wage and hour issues, premises liability, products liability, consumer complaints, and class action litigation,. Focused on protecting employer interests, Micah has defended client depositions, successfully argued motions, negotiated settlements, and prepared cases for trial. Micah has traditional labor law experience from representing automotive and manufacturing employers involved in union organizing campaigns, elections, and arbitration proceedings before the NLRB.

As the first recipient in Michigan of a combined law degree and Master’s in Dispute Resolution, Micah can provide guidance and insight for clients involved in arbitration, mediation, negotiations and related ADR proceedings. Micah is a certified mediator and has mediated over thirty cases involving claims of employment discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, contract and commercial matters, and general civil litigation.

Micah was born in Houston and raised in Kailua, Hawaii before moving to Detroit, Michigan. Micah earned a psychology degree from Denison University in Granville, Ohio where he played football and rugby. Micah graduated cum laude from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit with a J.D.-M.A.D.R. Since returning to Texas, Micah was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2003 and is a member of the American Bar Association’s Employment Law Section, the Defense Research Institute, and the Houston Bar Association.
