Ms. Scheidt is an Associate in the Commercial Litigation Department and a member of the Business Insurance Practice Group. She has a wide range of experience in complex insurance coverage and commercial litigation matters.
Ms. Scheidt counsels general liability, professional liability and life, health and disability insurers on a variety of coverage issues, including claims resolution and bad faith. Ms. Scheidt also represents insurers in all aspects of litigation, including declaratory judgments, interpleader actions and other complex cases. Some of the coverage issues that she handles include construction defects, advertising injury and errors and omissions for a wide range of professionals.
Ms. Scheidt has also served as litigation counsel for public and private companies, government agencies, and not-for-profit organizations in a broad range of business and commercial disputes, including defamation, breach of contract, products liability and professional liability claims.
Ms. Scheidt has spoken about insurance coverage matters at industry meetings and client training sessions, and has served as a continuing legal education instructor on insurance issues.
Ms. Scheidt received her B.A., with distinction, from Duke University in 1992, where she completed dual majors in History and Economics. She received her J.D. in 1995 from Duke University School of Law, where she was invited to assist with the instruction of first year law students. Prior to coming to White and Williams, Ms. Scheidt served as Corporate Counsel to a national accounting firm, and also worked as an attorney at the law firm Stradley, Ronon, Stevens & Young, LLP, where she was a member of its Insurance and Professional Liability practice groups.
Ms. Scheidt is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and admitted to appear before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, and the United States Court of Appeal for the Third Circuit.
