Allyson works with clients of all sizes to leverage their intellectual assets through strategic patent portfolio development and management. She focuses her practice on general client counseling and the construction of strategic patent portfolios in cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and genetics.

Allyson has drafted and prosecuted patent applications covering technologies including antibodies, biological therapeutics, formulations, single nucleotide polymorphisms, screening assays, bone repair, and RNA interference for a variety of clients, including pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies, small start-ups, and academic institutions. She manages patent prosecution strategy in the U.S. and in foreign jurisdictions, and has experience in ex parte reexamination and appeals proceedings in the U.S.

Allyson has also been involved in due diligence and freedom to operate investigations, and in the preparation of patentability, invalidity and non-infringement opinions. Some representative matters include:

• Represented start-up business in freedom to operate investigation and developed and managed patent portfolio over many years to establish and protect the company’s position in the biotech industry.
