Schettino, John L.

David Schaffer is a senior associate in Wiggin and Dana's Corporate Practice Department. He joined Wiggin and Dana in 2006 and is a resident of the firm's Stamford office. David represents publicly-traded and privately-held companies on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures and other strategic transactions, private equity and venture capital financings, entity formation and restructuring, securities law compliance and corporate governance. He has experience in domestic and cross-border transactions that cover a variety of industry sectors, including information technology, financial services, manufacturing, biotechnology, health care and consumer products. As part of his international practice, David has assisted clients and conducted business in Europe, India and East Asia.

Before joining Wiggin and Dana, David was an associate with a leading Los Angeles-based law firm and corporate counsel of a major provider of media and technology solutions. Prior to law school, David worked in Taipei, Taiwan, where he established and managed a field office for a Lee Iacocca start-up venture involved in the production and distribution of electric vehicles.

David received his J.D. and M.B.A. from Pepperdine University, where he was a Fellow of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology Law. He graduated with a B.A. with Distinction in History from San Diego State University and is proficient in Mandarin Chinese, having spent a year studying abroad at the Chinese Language Center at National Cheng Kung University in Tainan, Taiwan.
