Ahron Haspel's practice involves the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions and international and partnership transactions, including those involving investments in alternative energy.

Ahron recently led a Jones Day team in structuring the disposition of Caithness Energy's alternative energy properties to a private equity group. He participated in the integration of the Warner-Lambert and Pharmacia acquisition transactions by Pfizer and the integration of their business on a worldwide basis. He has experience in structuring alternative energy transactions involving the transfer of production tax credits and the implementation of energy tax credit provisions provided for in recent tax legislation.

Ahron is the author of numerous tax articles dealing with mergers and acquisitions and is coauthor of Income Taxation of Natural Resources, published by Prentice Hall. He has lectured at courses and programs at North Texas State University and University of Kentucky relating to mineral taxation and has presented at various tax conferences, including those sponsored by the American Bar Association/American Law Institute and the New York University Tax Institute.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Ahron was a senior tax partner with KPMG LLP. He was a member of the KPMG board of directors and served on a number of leadership and management teams.
