Joseph Saphia is an Intellectual Property Litigation Partner in the firm's New York office. Joseph's practice focuses primarily on patent litigation, licensing and counseling.
Joseph is a registered patent attorney and has a M.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a B.S. in Pharmacy. Joseph's background in life sciences is extensive and diverse. He has published multiple research papers in pharmacology and biochemistry and has taught biochemistry, pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, and therapeutics.
Joseph has handled high profile patent litigation matters from inception through trial for industry leading companies related to the most commercially successful biotechnology product, the most successful anti-hypertensive drug product, medical devices, cosmetic products, electrical devices, and avionic equipment. He has authored opinions of counsel on a wide range of technologies including: chemical compounds, pharmaceutical formulations, methods of use, biological products, methods of producing biologics, genetically modified plants, and methods used in genetic modifications.
Joseph earned his B.S. in Pharmacy and his M.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences as a University Fellow at St. John's University College of Pharmacy. He received his J.D. from St. John's University School of Law.
Joseph is admitted to practice in New York State, the District Court for the Southern District of New York, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
