Richard Salgado focuses his practice on appellate litigation and complex civil litigation. He has represented clients in various substantive areas, including intellectual property, civil fraud, landlord-tenant, tax, and False Claims Act litigation. He also has been involved in numerous constitutional matters.
Representative clients have included CBS, Computer Sciences Corp., Expedia, IBM, National Heritage Insurance Company (a subsidiary of EDS), and Verizon as well as mothers seeking the return of 468 children seized during the 2008 raid on the Yearning for Zion Ranch in west Texas and state rifle associations pursuing recognition of individual Second Amendment rights in Heller v. District of Columbia. Richard has briefed cases in the United States Supreme Court, Texas Supreme Court, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second, Fifth, Eighth, and Federal Circuits.
