Attorney Nick Halbur grew up in the western Iowa town of Caroll and attended Creighton University in Omaha before attending and then teaching at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. Nick taught and began his legal practice at St. Thomas' Interprofessional Center for Counseling and Legal Services where he served as the Fellow for the Elder Law Clinic. Nick represented, and supervised student work, for low income seniors in need of long term care. The Clinic handled referrals for Medicaid, nursing home rights, guardianships & conservatorships, and general civil legal issues. Nick and his family returned to Omaha where he entered private practice and joined the Thompson Law Office in July of 2011. Nick has a general civil practice including but not limited to elder law, real estate, probate, wills, trusts, and estates. Nick also assists clients with business formation and succession planning. Nick's wife, Joanna, is a therapist working with families and children and they have 2 children.
