The focus of Mr. Rotella's practice, is serving as outside general counsel for all types of companies, including currently several medium sized publically traded or private equity financed Health Care businesses and also professional groups.  Mr. Rotella serves in this role under a flat monthly rate, providing our clients with a quality, consistent, financially predictable legal presence in alternative to traditional salaried in house and billed per hour arrangements.  Mr. Rotella also regularly handles a variety of Health Care contractual and corporate litigation/regulatory defense issues, including certain "niche" practice areas: (1) Health Care Arbitration; (2) Accountable Care Organization ("ACO") compliance and liability counsel; (3) Health Care Licensing Defense; and (4) Executive Risk Litigation Oversight/Defense.

With the wide ranging experience of having served businesses and professionals as trial, appellate and in-house counsel, Mr. Rotella brings a unique "big picture" and cost containment focus to his practice.  Mr. Rotella's most recent in-house experience, was as Assistant General Counsel for a $1.1 billion national long term care company where he successfully developed and implemented an arbitration program for all new resident admissions in the company’s most litigious states and managed other legal matters, including high exposure directors and officers and professional liability, employment, contract and commercial disputes, as well as the due diligence related to a private equity acquisition. 

As the ACO initiative has rapidly expanded, Mr. Rotella provides extensive counsel and guidance on the several compliance and liability issues these groups face.  This also includes successfully guiding several ACOs through the Medicare Shared Savings Program application and certification process. Additionally, Mr. Rotella currently provides outside legal counsel to ACO Management Consultants, LLC, a group that assists ACOs and their governing body with all facets of ACO operation.
