I have been practicing law since 1995. I served in private practice in Massachusetts in the areas of employment law, estate planning, and family law from 1995 until 2000. From 2000 to 2005, I served as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Boston, Boston Public Schools, and worked primarily in the area of employment discrimination defense. I relocated to New Hampshire in 2005, and in October of that year, began practicing law in New Hampshire the areas of family law and elder law.
My practice is dedicated to serving the needs of individuals and families.
As an attorney who practices family law, I routinely represent parties in cases involving divorce, legal separation, parenting rights and responsibilities, child support, and alimony. I enjoy being able to zealously advocate reasonable legal positions on behalf of my clients. As part of my representation, I provide my clients with reasonable expectations of what they are likely to be awarded by a court during the litigation so that each client can make informed decisions regarding his/her case.
Additionally, I serve clients in the area of estate planning, probate administration, and Medicaid. I take pride in educating my clients regarding various types of estate planning tools and then designing and preparing various estate planning documents in accordance with the client's specific estate planning goals and within the client's budget. Wills, trusts, advance directives, and powers of attorney for financial matters are examples of the documents that I routinely prepare for clients. I also represent clients to probate and administer the estates of their deceased family members, and to seek guardianship of incapacitated family members.
I also enjoy helping clients through the Medicaid process. I advise clients regarding the Medicaid application process and the rules for qualifying for Medicaid. I tailor our discussion and my advice to the client's specific financial situation so that, together, we can decide how to maximize the value of the assets that the client will get to keep and how to shorten the process of qualifying for Medicaid benefits. I offer to clients as much or as little assistance as the client needs in the process: from helping the client place a family member in long term care, to representing the client through the application process.
