Mr. Gross' practice is devoted to insurance coverage, catastrophic injury, and bad faith litigation. His representation of the insurance industry spans both first-party property and third-party liability claims arising out of all types of coverage including general liability, advertising injury, personal injury, professional malpractice, personal and commercial auto, excess/umbrella coverage, homeowners, business interruption coverage, directors and officers, surplus lines and insurance fraud matters. Mr. Gross has particular expertise with respect to coverage issues related to the interstate motor carrier trucking industry. Mr. Gross has advised insurance companies in complex motor carrier coverage, liability, and bad faith litigation in Arizona, Kansas, New Jersey, New Mexico, Colorado, Alaska and California.
Currently, Mr. Gross is chair of the Arizona State Bar Motor Carrier Transportation seminar and is serving as one of the two managing authors and editors of the Arizona Tort Law Handbook. He has published over two dozen articles and books relating to insurance coverage, liability defense, and claims practices including chapter eight of the national Claims Adjuster’s Automobile Liability Handbook published by West in 2009 and chapter nine of the two volume book titled Handling Insurance Cases published by West in 2011. He has been listed by SOUTHWEST SUPERLAWYERS® as a rising star.
Mr. Gross is a member of the CPCU Society, the Trucking Insurance Defense Association (“TIDA”), and the Arizona Association of Special Investigation Units. Steve and his wife Lindsay, a ballet instructor, have two children and enjoy hiking, running, and crossfit. Steve has also actively served his community as a volunteer law enforcement officer for the past three years.
