As a member of the private panel of bankruptcy trustees for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division, since 1984, he has a broad range of experience and knowledge which spans virtually every aspect of bankruptcy and reorganization matters.
Representative matters include the liquidation of Builders Plumbing & Heating Co and the related cases of Glendale Plumbing, Southwest Pipe & Supply and Spesco, Inc.; Appliance Control Group, Inc. (formerly known as Harper-Wyman Company); K&R Trucking Inc. In addition, he has represented trustees, creditors and other claimants in matters such as K-Mart, Inc., Gas City, Inc., and related cases.
In addition to trustee and bankruptcy matters, he has extensive experience in representing other trustees, in prosecuting Chapter 11 cases for private clients, in all aspects of chapter 7 cases both commercial and personal and in workouts for troubled companies. He has extensively litigated preference and fraudulent transfer cases and other matters involving property owners, landlords and lenders.
David is a 1973 graduate of the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and the 1976 graduate of John Marshall Law School with honors. He is currently a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, DuPage County Bar Association, National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees and The American Bankruptcy Institute.
