Born in Charleston on October 21, 1919, graduated from the College of Charleston in 1942 and from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1947, where he was a member of the Society of Wig & Robe. He was admitted to the Bar in 1947 and has provided his clients with exceptional legal services since that time.
During World War II, Mr. Rosen served on a Coast Guard landing craft in the Pacific and was discharged in October 1945 as a full lieutenant.

Morris D. Rosen, one of South Carolina's distinguished trial lawyers, has represented clients in almost all practice areas.
Widely respected as a "lawyer's lawyer," Mr. Rosen has received many prestigious awards, including the University of South Carolina School of Law 1994 Compleat Lawyer Award, the South Carolina Bar's 1994 DuRant Distinguished Public Service Award and the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association's 1999 Founders Award.
He has maintained the highest professional rating in the MARTINDALE-HUBBELL LAW DIRECTORY for over 35 years and is listed in THE BEST LAWYERS IN AMERICA. Mr. Rosen is also a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and is an Advocate in the American Board of Trial Advocates. In 1997, he was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree by the College of Charleston.
Mr. Rosen served as Corporation Counsel for the City of Charleston from 1959 through 1975 and was a member of the South Carolina Board of Law Examiners from 1960 through 1975. He was the president of the South Carolina Municipal Attorneys Association in 1964.
Mr. Rosen has actively participated in the South Carolina Bar, serving as its president from 1979 to 1980. He is a member of the Charleston County Bar Association and served as its president from 1963 through 1964. He is also a member of the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, and the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation.
