3.2 Million Dollars- Settlement- was paid to an Orange County male who under went multiple cervical surgeries as a result of being struck head on by a defendant that was drag racing another motor vehicle.
249,000-Settlement- was paid to an Orange County male who sustained a fractured sternum as a result of a rear end motor vehicle accident.
625,000-Settlement- was paid to a Dutchess County woman who sustained a neck injury requiring surgery due to her vehicle being struck by a Bus that failed to stop for a stop sign.
920,000-Settlement- was paid to the Estate of an Orange County male whose injuries resulted in his death. The defendant crossed over the double yellow line striking my client’s vehicle head-on. The defendant was ticketed for driving while intoxicated and unfortunately only carried insurance coverage of $25,000. Through the investigative efforts of Finkelstein & Partners, we discovered the name of the bar that continued to serve alcohol to the defendant whose blood alcohol was in excess of the legal limits. The majority of this settlement was recovered through the bar’s dram shop policy.
290,000-Settlement-was paid to a Rockland County woman who sustained a fractured leg that required surgery after falling from the stairway leading into a private family home due to the failure of the homeowner to have the required hand railings in place.
$850,000-Settlement- paid to an Orange County woman whose motor vehicle was rear-ended by the defendant vehicle. Our client injuries resulted in her having to undergo surgery to her neck, back and arm.
$1.3 Million Dollars-Settlement- was paid to a Sullivan County male who while a passenger in an automobile was ejected from the vehicle when the operator lost control of the car. Our client was air-lifted from the scene to the hospital where he underwent several surgeries to his internal organs.
$584,000-Settlement- paid to a Sullivan County woman involved in a motor vehicle accident as a result of the defendant’s failure to stop at a stop sign. Our client sustained a fractured metacarpal and injuries to her neck.
Education
Education Melody Gregory joined this law firm in 1977, having graduated from Newburgh Free Academy. From the initial position of a Case Manager, took on more and more responsibility in various departments within the firm. While working, she continued her education and obtained a BS degree from State University of New York. After 20 years of excellent service to the firm and our clients, Finkelstein & Partners provided a full scholarship to attend law school at Western New England College School of Law where she received her J.D. Ms. Gregory was the first recipient of such a scholarship from this law firm. After passing the New York State and State of Connecticut bar exams and being admitted as a lawyer, Ms. Gregory began representing seriously injured clients in a greater capacity.
