Noel Rodriguez represents entities in a broad range of commercial litigation matters involving contracts, patent litigation and other intellectual property rights, creditors' rights and remedies, insolvency-related litigation, and prejudgment provisional remedies. She has represented entities against False Claims Act cases and tort and unfair business practice claims under the Alien Tort Statute, the Torture Victim Protection Act, and the California Business & Professions Code Section 17200.
Noel's recent experience includes representing an energy company against allegations of patent infringement that resulted in a very favorable settlement; defending an international energy company against common law tort, Alien Tort Statute, and Torture Victim Protection Act claims that resulted in a complete defense verdict; representing secured creditors in relief from stay motions in bankruptcy courts; representing banks in creditor rights and remedies actions arising from construction loan agreements; and counseling an international energy company on minimizing prelitigation risk involving overseas assets.
Noel is co-chair of the board of directors for AIDS Legal Referral Panel, an organization providing legal services to people living with HIV/AIDS in the San Francisco Bay Area, and is also a member of the executive and events committees. Noel is a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco's Law Academy Advisory Committee. Law Academy is a program that encourages and increases career opportunities for underserved and ethnically diverse students in San Francisco high schools. She also serves on Jones Day San Francisco's Diversity Committee.
