After completing high school, Julia actually worked in the agricultural fields and fast food restaurants for several years. This was followed by six years working in a cannery packing vegetables. In her next job, Julia spent another six years as a grocery store clerk/cashier. She then spent another year working for an insurance company before starting college classes at mid-age. Julia feels that her very humble beginnings greatly assist her and contribute to her success as a personal injury attorney in understanding and helping normal everyday people.

Julia is devoutly religious and single-handedly started a "food bank" through her church to help feed the impoverished. She believes her main goal in life is helping others and spreading the "good news."
