Mr. Gray's diverse trial practice over the past thirty-three (33) years has included a particularly heavy concentration on litigation within the public sector. As such, he regularly represents Georgia Cities and Counties, Housing Authorities, City Councilman, County Commissioners, Police Chiefs, Police Officers, County Sheriffs, Sheriff's Deputies, Road Superintendents, Wardens, Jailers, School Systems, School Districts, School Superintendents, Teachers and other local Governmental Employees and Agencies. Mr. Gray also serves as conflict counsel for the State of Georgia and, in this regard, represents employees of the state in litigation matters alleging violations of civil rights. The cases in which he is routinely involved in this area of practice include a variety of legal issues related to our federal and state constitutions, civil rights, employment, police protection, zoning, education, special education, excessive force, false arrest, false imprisonment, police shootings and vehicle pursuits.
Mr. Gray is rated "AV" by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating afforded to lawyers by their peers. He has also listed among Georgia Super Lawyers in Atlanta Magazine from 2002 to date.

Although the majority of Mr. Gray's practice includes heavy emphasis on the public sector, he has and continues to be involved in a variety of other litigation matters including professional liability, catastrophic injury, brain injury, wrongful death, products liability, health care, and insurance coverage issues.
Personal Information
Mr. Gray is a 1972 graduate of Georgia Tech where he received a B.S. Degree, cum laude, in General Management. He is a 1976 graduate of the University of Georgia Law School where he received a Juris Doctor Degree, cum laude. Mr. Gray also received the Order of the Coif, reserved for those in the top 5% of their law school class, and served on the Georgia Law Review. He has received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating afforded to lawyers by their peers.
Mr. Gray originally joined the law firm of Smith, Cohen, Ringel, Kohler & Martin (now Smith, Gambrell, and Russell) upon graduation from law school in 1976 where he was made a partner in 1983. Mr. Gray was a founding member of the firm of Fortson & White (later Smith, Howard & Ajax) in 1984 where he remained until forming Gray, Rust, St. Amand, Moffett & Brieske, LLP, in October, 1999.
Mr. Gray is a sports enthusiast and avid golfer. He has two sons, both of whom graduated from Georgia Tech. Mr. Gray was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Atlanta Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, Georgia Claims Association, Georgia Defense Lawyers Lawyers Association and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta. He is also a frequent lecturer at local seminars.
