Brian T. Rochel represents employees in trial and litigation of all types of employment claims. Brian has tried several cases, including second-chairing two successful jury trials. Brian recently second-chaired a trial where the Court awarded his client $357,000 in a disability discrimination and retaliation case. Brian also second-chaired a trial where a jury awarded returned a $361,000 verdict against G&K Services, including $250,000 in punitive damages, finding G&K retaliated against his client.
Brian represents employees in all types of claims, such as discrimination, retaliation, hostile work environment, unlawful harassment, and whistleblower or qui tam cases. Brian has tried four cases in the past two years and been part of the trial team in two more jury trials. Brian represents clients in state and federal court and has appeared before the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
Brian represents employees in severance and contract negotiations as well as alternative dispute resolution (ADR), such as mediation and arbitration. Brian is a qualified neutral under Minnesota Rule of Practice 114, eligible to provide ADR services.
Brian has been recognized as a "Rising Star" by Minnesota Super Lawyers and is actively involved in the labor and employment legal community, serving as a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA), in both its Minnesota Chapter and as a Board Member of 8th Circuit NELA. Brian also serves on the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA)'s Human Rights Committee.
Brian joined Halunen & Associates after graduating summa cum laude from Hamline University School of Law.
