Kyle Robertson is an associate in the Intellectual Property Department. He joined the firm in 2008.

Past Experience

Mr. Robertson’s practice focuses on obtaining and enforcing intellectual property rights, with an emphasis on Internet technologies, software systems, virus and malware prevention systems, video games and electronic media, electronics, communications, and computer industries. He has participated in litigations relating to communication systems, computer software, wireless communications, mobile devices and Internet access systems. Mr. Robertson has provided pro bono services through the Massachusetts Legal Clinic for the Homeless.

Mr. Robertson was previously employed as Vice President of Engineering at Quest Research and Development Corporation. Mr. Robertson also served as Lead Artificial Intelligence Engineer for A Few Screws Loose Games. Prior to beginning his legal studies, Mr. Robertson was a software engineer and network designer at National Instruments and Digi International, respectively. Mr. Robertson is in the process of obtaining a patent based on his work at Quest Research and Development Corporation.

• Represented a Fortune 100 company in a multi-patent dispute regarding cryptographic technologies used in secure online banking.
• Represented a Fortune 100 company in a patent dispute regarding pre-paid internet access technology.
• Represented a Fortune 500 company in a multi-patent dispute regarding efficient data transmission to handheld devices.
• Represented Teradyne in a patent dispute regarding hard disk drive testing technology.
• Assisted Fortune 100 company with analysis of competitor’s patents.

Professional Activities

Mr. Robertson currently serves as Intellectual Property Advisor to Philanthropist.org. He is a member of both the Boston Patent Law Association and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
