Robinson, Charles

Scott Robertson has practiced law on the lower Eastern Shore of Maryland since graduating magna cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1993. His primary, and now exclusive*, area of practice has been the handling of automobile accident injury claims and cases. In addition to the vast number of cases he has handled that have settled without a lawsuit, he has been a lead attorney in approximately 150 personal injury trials, the majority of which were tried before a jury.

During the first half of Mr. Robertson's legal career, he represented major insurance carriers and their insured in the trial defense of injury cases. He also previously represented insurance companies in lawsuits against uninsured motorists who negligently caused accidents in order to recover the funds paid by the insurance companies (insurance subrogation).

Mr. Robertson's practice is now exclusively focused on the professional handling of insurance claims and cases on behalf of those injured through the fault of other drivers. Mr. Robertson and his well-trained staff are focused on achieving the best possible end result for his clients, while relieving the clients of the hassle and stress of dealing with multiple insurance adjusters and the often cumbersome coordination of benefits issues. Great communication with clients is a hallmark of Mr. Robertson's practice.

Mr. Robertson has received several legal awards and honors. He was the statewide recipient of the Edward F. Shea Professionalism Award from the Maryland Bar Foundation in 2004. In 2003 he received the Maryland Leadership in Law Award from The Daily Record, a Baltimore-Washington law and business publication. He received the Partnership Award from the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service for the 2002-03 year.

Mr. Robertson is a past member of the Board of Governors and Executive Committee of the Maryland State Bar Association. He is a past President of the Wicomico County Bar Association and has served as the county coordinator for the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service. He is a member of the Maryland Association for Justice (formerly the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association) and is a fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation.

Mr. Robertson is actively involved in community affairs on the lower Eastern Shore. He is the 2009-2010 President of the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce. He has been appointed by the Wicomico County Council to serve in several important leadership positions. He was the Chairman of the Wicomico County Charter Review Committee that drafted the new Charter to implement the County Executive form of government. He previously served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Wicomico County Free Library. In the early 1990's he served as the Public Safety Subcommittee Chairman of the Wicomico County Consolidated Functions Committee.

Mr. Robertson is an active member and past Chairman of the Administrative Board of Trinity United Methodist Church. He served as President of the Salisbury Jaycees in 1996-97. In 1997 he received the Kulp Memorial Award from the United States Jaycees, recognizing him as one of the best chapter presidents in the nation.
