Doug Grady is an intellectual property attorney who has been honored as one of the top 2.5% of Washington Super Lawyers® under 40 years old in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 - every year of eligibility; he has appeared in over 50 intellectual property actions, losing twice.

Mr. Grady's clients include a diverse group of IP and technology entities, including sole entrepreneurs, emerging/fast-growth/high-tech entities, Fortune 500 companies, and the State of Washington, for which he serves as Special Assistant Attorney General for intellectual property matters.

Doug focuses on intellectual property litigation and dispute resolution, with a particular emphasis on patent, trademark, and internet-related litigation in federal courts and tribunals in the United States and internationally. He has served as trial counsel in multiple intellectual property trials, including a notable full defense jury verdict of patent non-infringement representing a 'Fortune 50' corporation, and a rare bench trial before the Honorable Richard A. Posner; he has a perfect record before the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva, Switzerland in UDRP matters (Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy).

He also serves as intellectual property counsel to sole entrepreneurs, companies, and public officials on issues concerning, among others: clearance, enforceability, infringement, non-infringement, and validity opinions; the acquisition, structure, maintenance, licensing, and monetization of intellectual property assets and portfolios, both registered and unregistered, domestic and international; intellectual property due diligence audits; licensing and technology transfer/assignments; employment and consulting agreements and related matters; B2B and B2C internet terms of service for SaaS and other online business models, including privacy agreements, general terms of service, DMCA compliance and monitoring, permissions and usage guidelines, and the like; and a myriad of other legal tasks related exclusively to the patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret laws.

For the five years prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Grady was a partner at a Seattle-based intellectual property boutique. Prior to practicing law privately, Doug served as judicial clerk/extern to the Honorable Barbara Jacobs Rothstein in the United States District Court of Western Washington at Seattle.

Mr. Grady was an international high-altitude/latitude mountain guide and mountaineering instructor before practicing law; he most recently guided for Mountain Madness Mountain Guides (Seattle, Washington) in South American and Asia.
