Joe is a shareholder with the firm of Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association. He is a member of the Business Law Section and practices principally in the areas of:
Prior to attending law school, Joe worked for more than 10 years in commercial banking, where he was directly involved in lending and loan workouts, and also served in various management positions. He has been on the receiving end of legal services and therefore, offers firsthand knowledge and comprehension of the various legal issues facing business clients today.
With both transactional and litigation experience, Joe understands clients’ business goals and the issues that hinder progress. He has worked with financial institutions, manufacturing and transportation clients.
Joe is also involved in the community, providing pro bono legal representation to the Lakes Melissa and Sallie Walleye Foundation.
Joe is admitted to practice in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa, and the respective federal district courts. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th and 8th districts. He is a member of the Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa Bar associations.
Born in Rock Rapids, Iowa, Joe received a B.B.A. in finance and a B.S. in economics from Iowa State University. He received his J.D. from Hamline School of Law. Joe joined Briggs in 2007.
