Attorney Amanda DuBois' practice focuses on family law, as well psychological, psychiatric, and medical malpractice. Her background of more than 20 years in complex litigation includes over 10 years of dedicated service to clients in divorce, parenting and custody cases. Before becoming an attorney, Amanda was a high-risk labor and delivery nurse at the University of Washington 's Medical Center in Seattle.

In 1997, a statewide journal profiled Amanda in an article entitled "Women in the Courtroom: Washington Journal Salutes Women Litigators Who Are Making a Name for Themselves in a World Still Dominated by Men."

Amanda served as a member of the Washington State Trial Lawyer's Association (WSTLA) Board of Governors, chairing the Women's Section, the Medical Negligence Section and the Family Law Section. She has also served on the Continuing Legal Education committee and the Legislative Steering Committee. She has been a featured speaker and a chairperson at numerous continuing education seminars for attorneys, nurses and mental health professionals.

Amanda is committed to community service. She has served on the boards of numerous professional and civic organizations, including The Shoreline Public Schools Foundation, The Stevens Hospital Foundation, and The Center for Spiritual Living. A working board member, Amanda has often chaired development, fundraising, and special events committees. She is currently a member of Seattle Rotary and actively fundraises for Peace Trees Vietnam, a landmine removal project in Quang Tri, Vietnam where adults and children are still being injured or killed by unexploded ordnance. A portion of the money received at the DuBois law firm is sent directly to PeaceTrees Vietnam.

The author of LawClass.net, an on-line legal curriculum used by high school students across the United States, Amanda is now in the process of publishing a book series aimed at teaching basic legal concepts to working individuals, young adults and new immigrants. Publication of The Civil Survival Series is scheduled for summer, 2009.

Amanda's husband Philip DuBois, an OB-GYN, practices at Swedish Hospital. They have two fabulous daughters and a very special Australian Labradoodle named Avi.

Amanda received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1978. She received a Juris Doctorate from the School of Law at The University of Puget Sound, which is now Seattle University.
