Mert Gollaher is a Partner in both the Corporate Practice and Health Care Departments at Wiggin and Dana. His practice focuses on business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, financings, joint ventures and technology transfer matters. Mert counsels life sciences, biotechnology and medical device companies in connection with licensing arrangements, R&D agreements, strategic alliances, product development and similar matters. He devotes a substantial portion of his practice to counseling emerging growth companies in the biotechnology, life sciences and medical device industries.
Mert also maintains a significant practice in the area of business transactions for health care providers, including provider joint ventures, mergers and affiliations of hospitals, health systems and other providers, provider and physician practice acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations.
For seven years before joining Wiggin and Dana, Mert was a research scientist engaged in molecular genetics and protein chemistry and the application of computer-based imaging systems to these disciplines.
Mert received his B.A. from Amherst College, where he majored in Chemistry. He received his J.D., with high honors from the University Of Connecticut School Of Law, where he was a member of the Connecticut Law Review.
Mert currently serves as the vice president and a member of the Board of Directors of Marrakech, a provider of residential and day services for developmentally disabled individuals throughout Connecticut. Mert is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the category of Health Care Law and Biotechnology.
