Martin studied accounting and finance at Gonzaga University, graduating in 1990 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Before starting law school, Martin spent a year of study in the MBA program at Gonzaga’s School of Business and, at the same time, passed the Uniform Certified Public Accounting Exam. While at Gonzaga, Martin was a member of the men’s division 1 college basketball team playing in the West Coast Conference. Martin graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1994, passed the California Bar Exam, and began practicing law that same year

Martin is an experienced trial lawyer representing individuals and companies in both state and federal courts throughout California in a variety of business law disciplines, including contracts, sales (Uniform Commercial Code), business torts, unfair competition and trade secrets, creditor’s rights and bankruptcy, real estate, and intellectual property. Martin is also knowledgeable in small business formation and has counseled and assisted clients in the creation of corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships.

Prior to joining Terra Law in 2003, Martin worked for five years at Pillsbury Winthrop LLP in Silicon Valley where his practice focused mainly on securities and corporate litigation, including representing companies and their officers and directors in securities fraud class actions. Martin also worked for four years at Ropers, Majeski, Kohn & Bentley in the firm’s business litigation department where he represented clients in a wide variety of commercial disputes.
