Julie Raye is a fierce defender of constitutional rights and has the undisputed reputation of caring for her clients and fighting harder than her opponents. Julie Raye was born and raised in Las Vegas, which has allowed her to develop strong relationships with local, state and federal prosecutors, judges and community leaders. Julie Raye received her Bachelor’s Degree in both Communications/Broadcasting and Political Science from Arizona State University. While pursing her Master’s Degree in Foreign Public Policy from Georgetown University, Julie also studied Spanish in Buenos Aries, Argentina. While living abroad, she mastered the Spanish language, which she fluently uses in the courtroom and negotiations for her clients. Julie received her Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law, 2006, and is licensed to practice law in both Nevada and Washington DC.

While in Washington, Julie worked for Senator John McCain and saw first hand what it took to be a strong negotiator and relationship builder. Julie had the opportunity to hone this art while working at the Las Vegas Public Defender’s Office from 2008-2011. Here, Julie handled over 1,000 cases and consistently was able to negotiate unbelievable deals for her clients ranging from diminishing felonies to misdemeanors and flat-out dismissals. Ms. Raye had great success securing probation for her clients and personally made sure her clients received the proper rehabilitation program and support from their families and communities. This gave Ms. Raye the unbeatable track record of keeping her clients out of prison and felony free at sentencing.

Although Julie Raye is a seasoned negotiator, her forte is fighting and winning in the courtroom. Before becoming a trial attorney, Ms. Raye represented Fortune 500 companies like Sony, Cannon and Panasonic as their spokesperson around the world at international trade shows and business conferences. Ms. Raye continued to develop her speaking skills on national television as a host on QVC. Ms. Raye, under the tutelage of Professor Mario Conte, the former head of the San Diego Federal Public Defenders Office, was the president of the Cal Western Mock Trial Team and led her school to local, regional and national championships and upon graduation, received the honor “Best Oral Advocate”.

Julie Raye continued her national success as a great defender with the victory over the State of Nevada in the highly televised First Degree Kidnapping case of Laurinda Drake, a PTA mother. A guilty verdict carried a sentence of life in prison. Julie Raye was chosen to defend. Her arguments and pleas to the jury of overreaching charges and the innocence of her client, led to a Not Guilty verdict on all counts. The seriousness of this case, with all of its high drama, was captured by local television stations and nationally televised on Court TV, who said Julie Raye did an amazing job. Most recently she represented Tyrone White, a young 14 boy falsely accused of murder. A few days before trial, Ms. Raye and her trial partner, Mr. Draskovich, convinced the State of Nevada to drop the charges. Today, Julie Raye is “of counsel” to the law firm of Turco and Draskovich, a preeminent criminal defense and personal injury law firm. Mr. Raye specializes in defending the constitutional rights of the falsely accused and overcharged. Ms. Raye also practices Personal Injury and Entertainment Law.
