Richard Gartner has been an attorney actively practicing law, including countless hundreds of trials, in
St. Charles County
for 28 years, and has the experience and maturity to rule fairly, impartially and correctly on any case to come before him. His 28 years of actual courtroom experience in many different fields of civil and criminal law, coupled with many years of life experience as a husband of three decades and father of three children, and his involvement in the community, provides him with the necessary demeanor and knowledge of rules of law, evidence and trial practice which would allow him to make the split second decisions necessary for an error free and fair trial of any matter brought before him.

. His primary area of concentration during his 28 years in practice has been general civil and criminal trial litigation.
He is admitted to practice before all of the Circuit Courts of the State of Missouri, the Missouri Court of Appeals of the Eastern District of Missouri, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit, and the
United States
Supreme Court.
In 1994 he was selected for inclusion in "Who's Who of American Lawyers", and is a Life Member of the National Registry of Who's Who, published in the 2001 Edition.
He is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the St. Charles County Bar Association, where he has served as President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer; the Criminal Bar Association of St. Charles County, where he has served as Secretary; the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis; the St. Louis County Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, the Missouri School Boards Association Council of School Attorneys, and the Missouri Republican Attorneys for Civil Justice, in which he is the Secretary and a founding member. He has taught seminars on trial practice to attorneys for CLE credits.
He has been actively involved in the community, serving as a Board Member of the United Way of Greater St. Louis, a Member of the United Services for the Handicapped Golf Tournament Fundraising Committee, has served as a coach for the St. Charles West High School Mock Trial program, and was honored by receiving the Journey to Excellence Award from the St. Charles School District, has served as a judge for the BAMSL Mock Trial Program and the Intercollegiate Mock Trial Tournament. He has been an active parent in the Marching Band and Jazz Band Program at
St. Charles West High School
; has assisted in fundraising programs and as a coach for soccer, basketball and baseball at the Academy of the Sacred Heart, and acts as a volunteer Lawyer for Webster University Film Students. He has served as President of the St. Charles County Pachyderm Club, and was honored for dedicated service and commitment to the club in 2006. He is a member of St. Cletus Parish, the Knights of Columbus. He and his wife of three decades, Chris (Starke) Gartner, who works as a physical therapist for United Services for the Handicapped, have resided in the City of
St. Charles
for three decades. Two of their sons are successful college graduates working in the film industry, and their third son is in college at
Webster University
.
