Licensure: Ms. Deasy is licensed to practice law in the States of New Mexico and California and the Isleta Tribal Court. She is admitted to practice law before the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Courts of California for the Southern District, the Central District and the Northern District, the United States District Court of New Mexico, and the United States Courts of Appeal for the Ninth and Tenth Circuits. Ms. Deasy currently sits as a member of the Code of Professional Conduct Committee appointed by the Supreme Court of the State of New Mexico.
Education: Ms. Deasy received her Juris Doctor degree in 1981 from the University of San Diego School of Law. She was a participant in McGeorge School of Law's Advanced International Legal Studies Program for Juris Doctors, Europe, in 1982. Ms. Deasy received her Bachelor of Arts degree Magna cum Laude from California State University
Areas of Legal Emphasis: Civil litigation, business and corporate (entity formation, contracts, buy/sell, employment), professional malpractice, construction defect, personal injury, wills, trusts, estates, probate, and animal law. Ms. Deasy has successfully prosecuted and defended hundreds of cases from commencement through negotiated settlement or trial.
Associations and Experience: Before starting her own firm, Ms. Deasy was a Partner in national law firm directing and performing all work involved in defending product liability, professional malpractice (attorneys, accountants, architects, etc.), construction defect and commercial litigation cases. She successfully represented product manufacturers and their insurance carriers in complex and multidistrict litigation including wrongful death, personal injury, and property damage subrogation claims involving hundreds of millions of dollars. She advised and defended numerous commercial manufacturer clients in both state and federal courts.
In the business and professional malpractice area Ms. Deasy has represented and advised physicians, chiropractors, attorneys, accountants, architects, engineers, insurance and real estate agents and brokers and numerous other kinds of businesses, as well as their insurance carriers, concerning their corporate and legal interests, and has successfully defended over 100 legal and accounting malpractice cases.
In the real estate development and construction defect area, Ms. Deasy has represented real estate developers, architects, civil engineers, and building sub-contractors in their business interests and litigation matters.
