Prussia, Kevin S.

Bill Prout is a partner in the firm's Litigation Department, and chairs the Professional Liability Defense and Probate Litigation Practice Groups. His practice includes complex litigation matters in the areas of professional liability, complex probate litigation, business, securities, unfair trade practice and construction. Representative engagements include representation of major law firms in professional liability matters, a worldwide accounting firm in the Colonial Realty class action securities litigation and related governmental proceedings; the State of Connecticut, Department of Economic & Community Development and Office of Policy Management in the Long Wharf Mall litigation; the owner/developer of a controversial cable transmission project across Long Island Sound; an insurance company in class action unfair trade practice litigation; an international environmental engineering firm in protracted federal court litigation; and the project owner in the L'Ambiance Plaza building collapse litigation. In addition to client matters, he is the firm's Loss Prevention Counsel and heads the firm's Professional Ethics Group.

Bill graduated with a B.A. from Yale College and a J.D. cum laude from Boston University School of Law. He is President of the New England Bar Association, and recent Past-President of the Connecticut Bar Association and the New Haven County Bar Association. He chaired the Professionalism Subcommittee of the CBA's Task Force on the Future of the Legal Profession and served on the Judicial Branch's Public Service and Trust Commission and Complex Litigation Committee. He is a James W. Cooper Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation. Bill has been listed for several years in The Best Lawyers in America in the category of Commercial Litigation.
