Mr. Dawson was licensed in Texas in 1989. He received his Juris Doctor Degree Cum Laude from the University of Michigan Law School in May 1989. His undergraduate work was performed at the University of Texas at Austin, where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree with High Honors and Special Honors in May 1985 with a major in Plan II Interdisciplinary Honors Program.
Mr. Dawson's educational honors in Law School include Order of the Coif, as well as Who's Who Among American Law School Students 1988; Certificate of Merit for Welfare Law in 1989; Am Jur Award for Mass Media Law in 1987. As an undergraduate, he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, National Honor Society, Phi Alpha Theta International History Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma National Freshman Honor Society, the Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellow 1984-1985. He was a National Merit Scholar 1981-1985, a College Scholar 1983-1985, and Dean's List.
Mr. Dawson is a litigation attorney with first chair experience in all phases of state and federal work. He handles insurance coverage and defense matters, including complex personal injury litigation.
Mr. Dawson is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, and the Dallas Bar Association. He is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Texas, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
