Jonathan M. Gallagher is an associate attorney with BrownWinick and provides legal services in the area of litigation.
Before joining BrownWinick, Jonathan served as a law clerk for Judge Michael Melloy of the United States Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and as a law clerk and courtroom deputy for Chief Judge Robert Pratt of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa.
Jonathan graduated, summa cum laude, from the University of Washington in 2005, receiving his B.A. in both the Law, Societies, and Justice Program and Political Science. While at the University of Washington, Jonathan received the Ezra Stotland Award for the highest academic achievement in the Law, Societies and Justice Program. He received his J.D., with highest honors and Order of the Coif, in 2008 from the University of Iowa College of Law.
At the University of Iowa, Jonathan was active in the Moot Court Board and participated in the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. In the Jessup Competition, Jonathan was awarded best brief and best advocate in the in-house competition in 2006-2007 and was named the National Team Captain in 2007-2008. Jonathan also received the Scholastic Achievement Award for academic and co-curricular performance.
Jonathan is a member of the Polk County and Iowa State Bar Associations and was admitted to the Iowa bar in 2008.
