Ted Pound has been practicing law in Atlanta since 1982. His practice focuses on civil litigation and trial practice in state and federal court, including representation of plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of personal injury cases. He has defended physicians and hospitals in hundreds of medical malpractice cases; he has represented businesses on either side of commercial disputes; he has handled numerous slip-and-fall, automotive liability and products actions; he has represented catastrophically injured plaintiffs in construction disasters; he has successfully resolved wrongful death actions for the families of individuals fatally injured as the result of others' negligence.

Mr. Pound was born in Columbus, Georgia, where he attended public school and graduated from Columbus High School in 1974. An Eagle Scout and valedictorian of his high school class, Mr. Pound attended Yale University as a National Merit Scholar, rowed with the varsity crew team, was active in intramural athletics, and graduated in 1979 with a degree in Economics and Political Science.

At the University of Georgia School of Law, where he graduated in 1982, Mr. Pound was a Bryant T. Castellow Scholar, Articles Editor of the Georgia Journal of International & Comparative Law, a Dean Rusk Scholar at the Hague Academy of International Law Session on Public International Law, a teaching assistant in the Terry College of Business, and a member of the Jessup Moot Court Team.

Mr. Pound began practicing law in 1982 with the Atlanta firm of Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers. He then practiced for five years with Drew Eckl & Farnham, one of the largest insurance defense firm in Georgia, representing individuals and insurance carriers in a range of personal injury litigation, including premises liability, automobile, products liability, and professional negligence cases. In the early years of his practice, he also was engaged in extensive pro bono representation of indigent clients, and in 1986 received the S. Phillip Heiner Award from the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation.

For the next twelve years, from 1988 to 2000, Mr. Pound practiced with Alston + Bird in Atlanta, where he was a partner in the medical litigation practice group for seven years. At Alston + Bird, he represented doctors and hospitals in malpractice, products liability and related litigation, with emphasis on the defense of emergency physicians, managed care providers and psychiatric facilities in catastrophic injury cases.

Since 2001, Mr. Pound has been engaged in a diverse civil litigation practice. In addition to representing physicians in medical malpractice lawsuits, he represents individuals and families as plaintiffs in tort litigation, including wrongful death and catastrophic personal injury claims arising from construction and automotive accidents.

Mr. Pound has tried more than 40 cases to a jury verdict in state and federal courts across Georgia. For the past several years, he has managed a diverse practice representing both plaintiffs and defendants in significant personal injury litigation as a sole practitioner and now as a member of a small firm, including business disputes and wrongful death actions arising in the construction setting. He is admitted to practice in the Superior Courts of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Georgia, the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
