REGINA D. POSERINA is a nurse and attorney, admitted to the practice of law in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Ms. Poserina received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Villanova University, Villanova, PA in 1984, and her J.D. from Temple University in 1992. For five years, Ms. Poserina worked as a registered nurse in Intensive Care and Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Units throughout the United States. After law school, Ms. Poserina worked in plaintiffs’ general practice, medical malpractice, and medical products malpractice, before forming her own firm. Ms. Poserina joined Begelman, Orlow & Melletz in June, 2012.
Ms. Poserina has argued cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and successfully briefed a case to the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Poserina represented the whistleblower in the case U.S. ex rel. Dunleavy v. The County of Delaware, et al., a case where the United States’ Supreme Court ruled on the issue of who can be a proper defendant under the False Claims Act. Ms. Poserina has also acted as amici curiae, for Taxpayers Against Fraud (“TAF”) a nonprofit whistleblowers organization headquartered in Washington, D. C.
Ms. Poserina represents employees with various legal issues, including whistleblowers in state and federal False Claims Act cases. While her background is in healthcare, Ms. Poserina has also represented clients in Medicare/ Medicaid, Department of Defense, Housing and Urban Development, Food Stamp/Department of Agriculture, Small Business Administration, and Department of Education frauds.
Ms. Poserina is the former chair of Cherry Hill H.S. West Project Graduation, a drug and alcohol-free party to insure the safety and well being of recent high school graduates. She also serves on an ad hoc committee at High School West involving environmental and beautification issues. Ms. Poserina is a member of the Social Justice Committee at Holy Eucharist Catholic Church, Cherry Hill, N.J.
