Janel's practice focuses primarily on family law, estate planning, probate and elder care. Her law practice regularly brings her into the courtroom and she is also certified as a mediator.
Janel graduated from Concordia College in 1991 with a double major in business administration and communications. In 1994, she received her J.D. from the University of North Dakota School of Law. Janel first became involved with the firm during law school when she spent two summers as a law clerk. Upon graduating from law school, she joined the firm as an associate attorney. In 2003, Janel became the third partner at Smith, Strege & Fredericksen.
Janel, her husband, Chad, and their three children live in Breckenridge, Minnesota.
