Dianne M. Curtis is an Associate Attorney with Hoover Six and Associates, L.L.C. Formerly with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Dianne served as Manager of Advocacy and Compliance for the District’s Division of Special Education. While there, Dianne implemented a network of internal auditing systems and IDEA workshops to support the District’s successful effort to raise the level of compliance and quality for the District’s approximate 11,000 IEPs. She has been certified to train classroom management programs such as CHAMPs and COMP (Classroom Organization and Management Program). In addition, she has held certification in Life Skills Crisis Interventions (LSCI) and Therapeutic Crisis Interventions (TCI) through Cornell University.
Dianne has an extensive history working with children and families in crisis. Prior to gaining experience in special education, Dianne spent her career as the Director of a social service agency in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania serving families involving abused, neglected, and/or dependent children. Dianne is a Court Appointed Special Advocate (“CASA”)/Guardian Ad Litem.
Dianne graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pittsburgh. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Akron School of Law where she served as Magister of Phi Delta Phi International Honors Society.
Currently, Dianne is an Educational Consultant for the Summit County Education Service Center and an Adjunct Professor for the University of Akron School of Law. In addition, she is a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Akron Bar Association. Dianne’s practice areas include Special Education Law, Family Law, Juvenile Law, and Probate.
