Stephen is an experience appellate attorney, having handled several hundred matters before the Superior and Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit. Much of his practice is devoted to matters involving insurance coverage disputes, bad faith litigation, personal injury, and products liability. As well, Stephen has represented many real estate agents in malpractice actions and numerous insurance companies in coverage declaratory judgment actions.
Prior to college enrollment, Stephen served in the United States Navy, where he served for a major NATO command in Lisbon, Portugal. Following his discharge, Stephen completed his education at Duquesne University receiving a B.A. degree in Political Science in 1979 and a Masters Degree in American History in 1980. Thereafter, Stephen was employed by Gilbert Commonwealth Associates and Westinghouse Electric Corporation as a consultant regarding personal computer installation and networking.
While working for Westinghouse Electric Corporation, Stephen attended Duquesne University Law School receiving his Juris Doctorate in 1987. Since graduating from law school, Stephen was employed as a defense attorney by several Pittsburgh law firms before joining Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin in December 1997.
