Ulises Pizano-Diaz worked in the audit division of the Pass Through Entities Group at the California Franchise Tax Board ("FTB"). At the FTB, he was responsible for drafting final determination letters, as well as conducting and reviewing tax analysis of partnerships, LLCs, estates and trusts, and other pass-through entities. In addition, during his time at the FTB, Ulises discovered a widely publicized $100 million tax shelter.
During law school, Ulises worked at the Placer County District Attorney's office where he attended preliminary hearings, conducted legal research, drafted trial motions, and assisted in all areas of trial preparation. He was also a judicial extern at the Seventh Circuit Federal Court of the Northern District Illinois.
Ulises has previously worked at a Fortune 500 international manufacturing company, where he assisted in the completion of mergers, acquisitions and divestments of company's operating units. He drafted and reviewed complex commercial contracts for suppliers, distributors and customers of ITW's businesses.
Prior to practicing law, Ulises worked as CFO for a healthcare company with interests in a full service orthopedic spine practice, surgery centers, medical buildings and health clubs.
Ulises graduated, with distinction, from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Ulises has been admitted to practice law by the State Bar of California and the Eastern District of the U.S. District Court. In his spare time, Ulises volunteers with the San Francisco Lawyer's Committee for Civil Rights. Ulises is fluent in Spanish.
